Oil Filter:

Oil Filters present the second barrier of protection. These are usually rated at 10 to 20 microns. Filter material is also paper or synthetic, and can be surface loading or depth loading. (contaminants enter the fillter media and are trapped within the depth of the media, rather than only on the surface.)

 

Canister (Cartridge) Oil Filter Element

This consists of an element inside a metal canister. The canister must be opened, and the new fillter installed inside the cavity. This element may be a variety of materials (metal mesh, synthetic, paper, or cloth) and will be manufactured with micron ratings compatible to the OEM specifications.

AIR/OIL SEPARATOR:

How it works:
Your air compressor system pulls ambient air into the air end where two rotors quickly spin to compress the air. These two rotors are constantly lubricated to (be sure/ensure) that they continue to spin as they were designed. This process makes a combination of compressed air and oil mist which is then transferred to the separator and sump tank where the oil mist is removed through filtration leaving with the pure air you desire. A scavenge line then transfers this separated oil back to the airend where it is injected onto the rotors to repeat the process.
